Fixing a closed event

You closed the event, and now you have spotted a mistake: a score typed wrong, a payout that is off, someone who paid and then left. This page is organised by the mistake. Find yours, press what it says, and you will know what the app shows you and what stays exactly as it is.

Before you press anything

Two things decide your path.

Reopening an event moves no money. The app only records payments. If someone was handed cash they should not have had, you still have to get it back from them yourself. Pressing Correct this event… steps the event back to Scoring or Payouts. Every payment already recorded stays recorded, and nothing is paid out or taken back by the reopening. Closing again settles any difference, and you see it first, before you confirm.

Was the event closed into a filed statement? (These are the statements listed in Balances.) Open the event and press the gear (Event options) at the top.

  • If the sheet shows Correct this event…, the event is still in an open period. Follow the sections below.
  • If it shows Edit scores and Edit winnings & corrections instead, the event was closed into a filed statement and cannot be reopened. Jump to An event closed into a filed statement.

A score was wrong

Say it is Monday at 9:40 pm and you see that Carla's Advanced score was typed 63, not 53. She should have won, and the player ranked first was already paid.

  1. Open the event, press the gear (Event options), then Correct this event….
  2. Choose Fix scores, matching or sign-ins. The event steps back to Scoring.
  3. Fix the score. The ranking re-sorts as soon as you save it.
  4. Press Work out payouts to go forward to Payouts.
  5. Press Close the event. See Closing again below for what you will be shown.

When you open Payouts, the app works out the amounts again for everyone who has not been paid and whose amount you did not set by hand. Anyone you already paid keeps the payment as recorded, even if the corrected ranking says they were owed something different. The review before you close shows you exactly who that is. If one of them was paid the wrong amount, or should not have been paid at all, do not leave it: on Payouts, open the division and press undo on that person (see A payout amount or payment was wrong below), then pay the right person.

A payout amount or payment was wrong

  1. Open the event, press the gear (Event options), then Correct this event….
  2. Choose Fix payout amounts or payments. The event steps back to Payouts.
  3. Choose Hand it out, open the division, and on a person you paid press correct to change the amount you paid, or undo to take the payment back and pay it again.

A strip at the top of Payouts reminds you that you are correcting the event and that payments stay recorded until you close again.

An amount you typed by hand is kept when the app works the payouts out again. The review names each one under Overrides kept, and beside it offers Reset to calculated (for an amount not yet paid) or Undo payment (for one that is), so you can act on it if you meant to.

Someone paid and then left

If a player paid in and needs their money back, you can refund them from Scoring. Open Correct this event… and choose Fix scores, matching or sign-ins. On the player's row, open their actions menu and choose Refund and remove. The app tells you how much they get back before you confirm, and the player comes off the sign-in sheet.

After payouts, the refund comes out of Club Funds. The player's original pay-in stays on the record, and Club Funds goes down by the amount handed back. If Club Funds does not hold enough to cover it, the app stops and tells you.

Closing again: what the review shows

When you press Close the event on an event you corrected, the app checks whether finishing changes anything. If it does, you see a review before you confirm, with Close the event and Not yet at the bottom. Nothing is closed until you press Close the event. If there is nothing to review, you get the ordinary quiet confirm.

The review is made of these sections, and a section only appears when it has something to show:

  • Needs working out again — an amount that has not been worked out since something changed. For a division, press Recalculate payouts right there and the line clears. For a contest or an ace pot, undo its distribution and award it again from Payouts, then close.
  • Payments vs. owed — for each player, what they were paid and what they are now owed, and in plain words what closing will do about the difference, before you confirm.
  • Overrides kept — the amounts you set by hand, left as they are.
  • Club Funds — what closing moves in and out of Club Funds.
  • Anomalies — a payment the app could not match to anything owed.

You are never asked to give a reason. The app records who reopened the event, when, and what changed, and that is all. Answering a question in the review never rewrites a payment; it only says you have seen it.

An event closed into a filed statement

An event that was closed into a filed statement has no reopen. Its header reads "Off the books — closed in the {month} statement" (the month and year of the statement, such as September 2026), and the gear (Event options) offers Edit scores and Edit winnings & corrections. (A skins event has one door, Edit winnings.) Edits save as you make them, and nothing moves money on its own.

Once you change a result that affects what someone was paid, the header adds "· edited" and a date. On the list of statements in Balances, the period shows "N events edited since". That is how you can tell the app and the filed statement now differ. The statement itself never changes.

On the finished event (and on Edit winnings & corrections), a banner says that N people were paid the wrong amount after an edit. Press Review corrections. For each person you choose:

  • Someone paid too little: Pay now (pays them now, and the money leaves the box) or Owe them on their tab (nothing leaves the box; it goes on their tab).
  • Someone paid too much: Collect now (the money comes into the box) or Put it on their tab (nothing comes in yet; Club Funds catches up when they settle).
  • Let it go for anyone, which books nothing. It is the default answer for each person.

Nothing is booked until you choose it, and each person is decided on their own. You can pay someone who was paid too little without collecting from the person whose share got smaller.

What the app will never undo

  • Payments already recorded. Reopening an event does not cancel them. Only you change one, with correct or undo.
  • A filed statement. It is the record of the event as it was closed and is never rewritten.
  • The correction history. Each time an event is moved back, the app keeps a record of it for good.
  • A closed season. The app refuses to correct an event in a season that has been closed, and says so on the sheet.

Where you can see what was changed

On the finished event, a Corrections list shows each time it was moved back: who did it ("You" or "A manager"), when, and to which phase. Under each you see either what changed ("Changed placements in Advanced.") or "No amounts changed.", and "Closed again" with the time, or "Still open for correction." until you close it.
